All of us have a list of countries to visit, and all that matters to us is that we see them sometime in our lives. For some people, that list will cover most of the globe. For others, they want to tick off one or two countries on each continent, but keep it more select. Some people want to tick off most of one continent but aren’t too concerned about others. Then there are hardened travelers who want to see as many different countries as possible. Which of these describes you?

The attractions of Scandinavia may be lost on people who prefer to sunbathe on holiday and have a “home from home” experience. Although it’s colder here than most holiday destinations, Norway has much to recommend it. If you have the time, take the chance to check out the Lofoten islands by ferry. Set among a wonderful backdrop, the islands themselves are Norway at its best, especially in fishing season.

The term “Niagara Falls” actually covers three sets of waterfalls dotted along the US-Canada border. They are a prime Canadian holiday destination, but most specifically you have to see the Horseshoe Falls. The spectacular views and drops in the scenery are what holidays were made for.
