COOKIE CUTTER CRAFTS PLUS E-Z DECO ICING PEN GIVEAWAY

With halloween fast approaching I thought of what themed snacks I could come up with and thought how little I make cookies, yet have quite a few cutters to hand! So a quick search around the web and I spotted crisps made out of wraps!! I definitely think this works better with the metal cookie cutters and you have to press down pretty hard!

So armed with a pack of wraps, spider and wizard hat cutters and some oil and spices I set about cutting out the wraps. I then brushed olive oil on them and sprinkled some chilli powder on and baked them in the oven on 175 c (fan) for about 15 minutes and voila….

spider

with a paprika dip for the spiders legs…yummy!

I then decided to cut up some cheese slice wizard hats and layered them on the serving dish and I must say they were a huge hit with the kids when they came home from school. You could also use for Harry Potter themed events – Aragog and sorting hats! (That’s what I had in mind when I ordered them) I will definitely be doing them again for christmas – I’m thinking christmas trees, stars and gingerbread men!

So that got me thinking what else could I use the cookie cutters for and I decided to have a trial run with making a potato stamp using the deer cutter (Patronus!) and I thought it came out pretty good…

I think the kids will love to make their own wrapping paper for christmas so will give this a try with them!

You can find the cutters I used from Meincupcake – there great value and the shipping is super quick!

This won’t be the end of what else I can do with a cookie cutter, watch this space and let me know if you give it a try or what other things I can try!

You can use them to cut out shapes to go on your cakes, make uniquely shaped scones or buns, mini party pizzas (with a star shaped cookie cutter for example), make kids sandwiches a bit more interesting by cutting out shapes.

Make some christmas cookies, wrap them in cellophane all nice and pretty with a little bow on. Put them on the tree, then for the couple nights before christmas if the children have been very good they get to go and pick a cookie off the christmas tree to eat while snuggled up watching a movie or reading together xx
