So here at Skullmadmama HQ we received a couple of books from the top Childrens chart
When Matilda discovers a treasure map inside an old bottle, she shows it to the Jolley-Rogers and they all set sail to find the mysterious island. Only to end up in the belly of the dastardly Pirate Cruncher! Can Matilda and the rest of the Jolly-Rogers rescue themselves before it is too late? Or will they end up trapped there forever? Expect adventure, laughs and perhaps an almighty sneeze..
I’ve started reading this to my son at bedtime and it’s definitely a fun and interesting read – it is mostly made up of writing but the pages are edged in illustrations as well as full page making a pleasing book to the eye.
Get ready, book 10 in the phenomenally bestselling Diary of a Wimpy Kid series is coming! Life was better in the old days. Or was it? That’s the question Greg Heffley is asking as his town voluntarily unplugs and goes electronics-free. But modern life has its conveniences, and Greg isn’t cut out for an old-fashioned world. With tension building inside and outside the Heffley home, will Greg find a way to survive? Or is going ‘old school’ just too hard for a kid like Greg? Praise for Jeff Kinney: “The world has gone crazy for Jeff Kinney’s Diary of a Wimpy Kid.” (Sun). “Kinney is right up there with J K Rowling as one of the bestselling children’s authors on the planet.” (Independent). “The most hotly anticipated children’s book of the year is here – Diary of a Wimpy Kid.” (Big Issue).
My daughter has kindly wrote a review of the Diary of the wimpy kid
The book is about a boy who had to stay in a cabin for a week which was not cleaned out and he had to do dangerous things
What I liked in the book:
When they had to sleep in a sleepy, stinky cabin!
What I didn’t like in the book:
When he put a fish in the toilet and got caught
What I found funny in the book:
When the little boy took his pants off at the table and ran around the table!
