If you are looking to add a few updates to your home, then why not start with the bedroom? It is a room that we send a lot of time in, and you will want it to be a relaxing haven. A lot of people think they need to set aside a lot of time to make changes to the home, but that is not the case. Put aside a couple of evenings, or perhaps even a weekend, and you will have it modernised and updated in no time. So if you are after a few quick and easy ways to decorate, here are some of my suggestions.
If you are a bit short on space, a good thing to install is some shelving. This is a better option than getting another chest of drawers, as shelves don’t take up floor space. When you have more open floor space, your room can look much bigger. Shelving frees up window wills and other surfaces that you have been using to display or store. You room will look less cluttered and quickly modernised. A popular trend is to go for floating shelves. They are a lovely modern touch and look so striking. Think about getting a few and arranging them on the same wall for biggest effect. Shelving takes no time at all to install; the time will just be deciding what should be displayed on them!
A quick way to change the look of the bedroom is to get some new bedding. You could even update the room with a throw or cushions. As the bed is the main feature in the room, people’s eyes are drawn to it straight away. So choose a bold pattern or colour if the rest of the room is more neutral.
Other things you could update is chair covers if you have one or two in your bedroom. A simple way to update is fabric and a staple gun, so it doesn’t take much time at all. You could also update your blinds and curtains. You could replace them or simple update some of the finishings. You could add new pullbacks for the curtains or install them if you don’t already have them. This just requires a few minutes with a drill and a screwdriver so no time at all.
Adding one or two more mirrors into the room can make such a difference! Mirrors create the illusion of more light as the existing light will reflect on the mirrors. It adds such a sparkle to the room. Mirrors also help to make a room look larger than it is too. Again, this is perfect for smaller bedrooms. Choose large wall mirrors if this is the case. Smaller mirrors or mirrors arranged in a pattern are great options for larger rooms. It is a good idea to plan the pattern out first before you drill any holes in the wall. Like the curtain pullbacks, it can take a matter of minutes to install a mirror.
