Many people put a lot of effort into achieving a dreamy and unique home. But, not so many people think about getting unique in the garden. Your garden is as important to your house as your rooms are. So, it deserves all the love you can give it. Achieving a unique garden is easier than getting creative with the interior of your home. When you’re working outside, you have no restraints on what you can do! If your garden hasn’t been receiving the love it deserves, give it a little tender loving care. The options for garden design are endless, but we’re going to look at how to make your outside space into a hippie haven. Because, tree hugging, right? You can take this as far as you like, but here are a few ideas that should set you on the right track!
CHILL OUT AREA
When you’re thinking about a hippie garden, the chill out area is the most significant space. Whether you want to meditate or chill out with friends, it’s important you get this right. Bear in mind that you’re going to need to protect the area from the elements. If you live somewhere with endless sunshine, you’re in luck. If you have to put up with rain, though, your chilling is at risk. The best thing you can do is put some shelter around the area. Instead of letting this ruin things, include it in the image of your garden. Why not get some trellis put up with a plastic sheet top? With shelter sorted, you can turn your attention to your furniture. Make the area your own. Remember that this is where you’ll be spending most of your time when you’re in the garden. Put rugs on the floor and scatter them with cushions if you want. Or, buy some beanbags to sit on. You could even purchase a hammock and spend lazy afternoons relaxing. Whatever you choose, make sure it’s an area you can imagine yourself enjoying. You could go all out and have a fabric tent somewhere. These can look fantastic, and make the perfect relaxing haven. Remember, though, that you need to consider the weather, too!
What hippie haven would be complete without a fire pit? Making a firepit that works isn’t hard. Do a little research to find out how, and get started. Being able to make a fire in your garden will ensure you get the best use of it possible. You won’t need to go in when it’s cold anymore. All you’ll need to do is light a fire! As well as making the pit itself, ensure that you have supplies. In an ideal world, you’ll be able to stock your fire from the land. In reality, that may not always be practical. What if there isn’t enough firewood in your garden? Avoid missing out by stocking up on plenty of wood from a company like Woodcall. Once you’ve bought supplies, make sure to keep them somewhere dry. If you haven’t made a fire a before, it’s also worth stocking up on firelighters to ensure you can get the thing going!
No hippie haven is complete without the right lighting. Candles are the ideal for creating the ambient atmosphere you want. If you know they’ll get used, stock up on some good quality candles. In the name of hippie, make sure you buy natural candles! Think about where you would keep the candles. Is there somewhere in your chilling area that you could put them? If there’s nowhere safe for them to go, it might be worth buying some jars to keep them in. You could hang them on hooks around the garden to create an excellent image. If candles don’t offer enough light for your tastes, why not invest in some solar powered fairy lights? You could drape these around your seating area to achieve something beautiful!
The more ornaments you have in your garden, the better it’s going to be. As well as hanging these around the walls of your house, you’ll want to hang some from the roof of your chill out zone. Think about which ornaments would look best in your garden. Stained glass ornaments always look excellent, as do wind chimes. If you intend to spend time meditating outside, metal ones might disturb you. If that’s the case, opt for bamboo wind chimes instead. The gentle sound of these swaying in the breeze will help you find a peaceful place!
