After this years Glastonbury Mud I was so glad of my Hunter wellies – thankfully they fit quite snug with welly socks, so I didn’t get stuck or fall but witness plenty of others. A lot of people recommend walking boots too. Think it’s more of personal preference and I haven’t tried walking boots but it’s certainly worth giving them both a try and see what you find more comfortable.
Plenty of liquids, admittedly most of our liquid consumed at Glasto was alcohol and since you can take your own booze we decided to take a trusty 3 Litre hydration bladder from Sports Direct and a rucksack and rather than fill it with water, we filled it with cocktail!! It was great and cost effective and next time we will be taking one each!!
A must is suncream to protect your skin when the sun does manage to peek through the clouds, but a huge essential is hand sanitiser!! Although they usually have them outside the toilets and they are filled up regularly – they can still be empty sometimes so it’s always worth carrying some with you in your bag. We had these great micro sprays from Theye that take up next to nothing room in your bag (which is so important when your carrying it around all day, everyday!) they came in a multi pack with mosquito repellent – great if your camping!
I was so glad of a Poncho from Happy Rainy Days that kept me dry when it poured down! Friends also wore trousers and macs but I loved the ease of a poncho that could be removed easily rather than having to struggle.
We took lots of instant meals like pasta in a mug, pot noodles etc. which are quick and easy to fill you up at camp before heading down to the festival. Also great snacks to carry around in our bags, were crisps, cereal bars and biscuits to keep you going inbetween meals!
Whatever festival your attending, have a wicked time!! I loved Glastonbury for the second time, despite the mud!!!
