Wednesday was the day we were going to make our first trip down from Weston-super-Mare to Penzance to see my bestest friend. It estimated a 3 hour 10 minute drive on maps and if I’m honest I wasn’t looking forward to driving it! But…it was actually a pretty easy drive, M5 then A30 all the way from Exeter to Penzance.
I took our T4 Camper as I thought it would be more comfortable and the kids have a DVD player to watch in the back. Plus I could fit Teddy’s bed confortably in the back on the floor so he could kip the whole way .
It was sunny the whole way down and once there it was great to see what my friend has been doing, busily getting their ex residential home transformed into their home and a boutique b&b. And I have to say it all looks great and I’m sure all the stairs will keep them fit!
After the long drive just to knacker me out completely we walked down to the seafront for the dogs to have a run and the kids to scooter and yes I have to admit it’s better than our sea by far!
The next day we did pop to St Ives on the train but unfortunately I left my phone behind but was very pretty if not windy! And the views from the train journey were amazing – hard to believe it’s the UK!
On the friday we had a walk to the local park and then a quick browse in the town and then it was back in the van to make the journey back to thankfully a sunny Weston-super-Mare.
We had a lovely time and can’t wait to go back soon as I miss my bestie and wish she didn’t have to move so far away but at least it’s not Australia – you will have no chance of a visit then!
