Since the birth of the world wide web in 1990 and wireless technology in 1991 we have seen wireless technology go into hyperdrive. We are a world away from the 1980’s where we had to do everything by hand and head out busy towns if we wanted to purchase something.
It was harder to research products back then so we relied purely on the salesman and not so much on real time testimonials. However now we have some real wizardry at our fingertips, technology than can make you safer, save you money and time and also that is just plain cool. Check out just a few of the things we can do today thanks to the awesome brain power of the early 90’s
Keeping Your Family Safe
Thanks to remote and wireless technology it is now possible to have your own security guard 24/7. Lorex home security cameras are serious tech when something is threatening your home or even the home of your neighbours. Their cameras offer HD tech which gives clear images and also have a great night vision camera. The military uses this same technology so if it’s good enough for them? We’re sold. Security cameras are also great for elderly or vulnerable relatives living alone. Giving you the chance to see who is at the door before letting anyone in.
Saving You Money
Amazon dominates the online world. One of the coolest developments this year comes in the form of the Echo with Alexa Smart Voice Recognition. ‘Alexa’ can be hooked up to most systems across your home including your light switches, washing machine and heating. You need to have a wireless plug adaptor but once you have those you can ask Alexa to turn of the lights, switch of the coffee machine or turn on the robotic hoover – another absolutely incredible invention! Saving You Time
Shopping? Who has the time for that anymore? Well, you no longer have to worry. Currently Amazon are working on drone delivery technology to complement their AmazonDash system. This wireless tech works with your grocery account and the companies Buttons. Simply place a wireless button by your toilet and you just have to press it when you notice your roll getting low. We aren’t sure if they have created an Prosecco button yet but they have been working on a 2 hour delivery service, so here’s hoping. The use of drone technology is to increase the efficiency of delivering your shopping. Although they’ll need to be mighty strong drones to carry some households weekly shop. Arnie Drones maybe?
With all this available on the market today, who knows how far we are from robots running all the boring stuff for us. We could have one to go to work, one to walk the dog and one to cook dinner. If we are really lucky someone will come up with a laundry robot first! The technological years are far from over. Exciting isn’t it?
